Si parte da Malpensa Venerdì 28 Febbraio. Il gruppo questa volta è più numeroso del solito. Include il presidente Franco Farao con i volontari rappresentati da sua moglie Egidia Scapin, da sua figlia Saem Bo, da suo figlio Nhak Farao con la sua ragazza Sara Cretu. / We depart from Malpensa on Friday 28 February. Il 5 Marzo di nuovo giornata a Phnom Penh, con un paio di incontri con imprenditori locali, amici italiani in loco e altri volontari che speriamo di coinvolgere nel nostro progetto. / On 5 March, another day in Phnom Penh, with a couple of meetings with local entrepreneurs, Italian friends on site and other volunteers we hope to involve in our project.
Il 6 Marzo una parte del gruppo (Egidia, Saem, Nhak e Sara) andrà al nord a Siem Reap, per fare un tour dei templi di Angkor, per poi rientrare Domenica 9 Marzo a Phnom Penh. Il Presidente Franco Farao, con il responsabile di progetto Chin Sokkea invece si sposterà a Kampot / Kep per iniziare il lavoro al nostro Centro Diurno di Domnak Chamboak. / On March 6, part of the group (Egidia, Saem, Nhak, and Sara) will go north to Siem Reap to tour the Angkor temples, and then return Sunday, March 9, to Phnom Penh. President Franco Farao, with project manager Chin Sokkea instead will travel to Kampot / Kep to begin work at our Domnak Chamboak Day Care Center.
Lunedì 10 Marzo il gruppo si ritroverà ricompattato a Kampot / Kep, presso il nostro Centro Diurno, dove trascorrerà l’intera settimana fino al rientro a Phnom Penh, previsto per la sera di Venerdì 14 Marzo. / On Monday, March 10, the group will reassemble in Kampot / Kep, at our Day Care Center, where they will spend the entire week until their return to Phnom Penh, scheduled for the evening of Friday, March 14.
Sabato 15 Marzo permanenza a Phnom Penh con le ultime attività che sicuramente comporteranno un passaggio al mercato di Tuol Tompoung (Russian Market) e poi domenica 16 Marzo dopo pranzo tutti in aeroporto per il rientro in Italia di Franco, Egidia, Nhak e Sara, mentre Saem proseguirà la sua permanenza in Cambogia fino a Sabato 22 Marzo, giorno della sua partenza per l’Italia. / Saturday, March 15 stay in Phnom Penh with the last activities that will surely involve a stop at Tuol Tompoung Market (Russian Market) and then Sunday, March 16 after lunch all to the airport for the return to Italy of Franco, Egidia, Nhak and Sara, while Saem will continue her stay in Cambodia until Saturday, March 22, the day of her departure for Italy.

Torniamo più carichi che mai dopo la missione di novembre 2024 e le festività natalizie. Presto saremo ancora in Cambogia, dal 28 febbraio al 17 marzo prossimi.
Ma nel frattempo abbiamo organizzato, grazie all’amico Francesco e agli amici della Tintoria ILTEP di Fino Mornasco, un incontro di presentazione delle attività della nostra associazione in Cambogia. Sarà una bella occasione per incontrarsi e parlare di Progetto Kep e di Sostegno a Distanza (SAD).
Ci saranno la nostra mostra fotografica e il nostro mercatino solidale, per fare un po’ di raccolta fondi.

Lo scorso 10 ottobre una gradita visita al nostro Centro diurno di Kep. Un team della società Grant Thornton proveniente da Phnom Penh ha fatto visita ai nostri bambini/e e portato graditissimi regali. / Last October 10 a welcome visit to our Kep Day Care Center. A Grant Thornton company team from Phnom Penh visited our children and brought very welcome gifts.

Non si è ancora spenta l’eco della missione del presidente Franco Farao a novembre-dicembre 2018, ed è già tempo della prima missione del 2019. / The echo of President Franco Farao’s mission in November-December 2018 has not yet been faded away, and it is already time for the first mission in 2019.
Come usuale la missione del presidente è stata dedicata agli aspetti più strettamente organizzativi e al monitoraggio di progetto, oltre che alla verifica delle situazioni più delicate con le home visits. / As usual, the President’s mission was dedicated to the most strictly organizational aspects and to project monitoring, as well as to verifying the most delicate situations with home visits.
Missione come sempre intensa e ricca di impegni, per questa volta non condotta in solitudine, ma accompagnato nella prima settimana di permanenza in Cambogia tra il 24/11 e il 3/12, dalla presenza e dal lavoro dei nostri volontari ormai veterani Stefania Bertarini con il compagno Daniele Romano (alla loro quinta missione in Cambogia) e Silvio Zagli (alla terza missione). / Mission as always intense and full of commitments, for this time not conducted alone, but accompanied in the first week of stay in Cambodia between 24/11 and 3/12, by the presence and work of our volunteers now veterans Stefania Bertarini with his companion Daniele Romano (their fifth mission in Cambodia) and Silvio Zagli (the third mission).

Jane sarà laggiù per un mese ad insegnare inglese ai nostri bambini e a fare corsi di formazione anche allo staff. Ha inoltre il compito di svolgere una lunga lista di home visits a completamento del lavoro fatto da Franco Farao e a supporto del programma di Sostegno a Distanza. / Jane will be down there for a month teaching English to our children and also training our staff. IO DISEGNO PER LA CAMBOGIA, svoltasi con la decima edizione lo scorso 14 Ottobre alla Sala Civica di Piazza Roma a Mariano Comense, anche quest’anno è stata l’occasione per fare il punto sui progetti della nostra Associazione. Manca ormai poco. Domenica 14 Ottobre si terrà la decima edizione di IO DISEGNO PER LA CAMBOGIA presso la Sala Civica del Comune di Mariano Comense in Piazza Roma. / Just few days to go. On Sunday 14 October the 10th edition of IO DISEGNO PER LA CAMBOGIA (I DRAW FOR CAMBODIA) at the City Hall of Mariano Comense in Piazza Roma.
Facemmo la prima edizione nell’ormai lontano 2009, ancora prima della nascita della nostra associazione e da allora questo evento è divenuto la nostra bandiera e il nostro evento principe / We held the first edition way back in 2009, even before the foundation of our association and ever since this has become our flag and our main event.
Sin dal mattino alle 9 saremo in Piazza Roma con l’esposizione delle auto degli amici della concessionaria Renault-Dacia Autostriatto e con il nostro mercatino solidale di oggettistica cambogiana./ Starting in the morning at 9 am we will be in Piazza Roma with the exhibition of the cars of the friends of Autostriatto Renault- Dacia dealership and with our charity market of Cambodian objects.
Le attività in Sala Civica partiranno alle 14 con la nostra mostra fotografica e soprattutto le attività di disegno dei bambini che parteciperanno al nostro solito concorso e che come ormai abituale saranno i giudici insindacabili dei disegni realizzati. Premi speciali per i primi classificati e un regalo e un ricordo per tutti i partecipanti./ The activities in the City Hall will start at 2 p.m. with our photographic exhibition and above all with the drawing activities of the children who will participate in our usual competition and who, as usual, will be the only judges of the drawings made. Il 2018 si sta dimostrando l’ennesimo anno di grande attività. Grazie alle collaborazioni avviate negli scorsi anni e all’infaticabile lavoro della nostra Jane Hartley, con il supporto di associati e volontari, stiamo portando a compimento diverse attività e diversi progetti. / 2018 is proving to be yet another year of great activity. Il progetto sicuramente più impegnativo rimane quello del nostro Centro a Domnak Chamboak. Ormai siamo arrivati a 200 bambini assistiti dal nostro staff. 25 piccoli che frequentano il Centro la mattina e oltre 90 bambini della scuola primaria che frequentano il pomeriggio. Il bisogno di creare nuovi spazi è sempre più impellente e allora dall’inizio di quest’anno abbiamo lanciato il progetto “Un mattone per i bimbi di Domnak Chamboak” finalizzato alla raccolta dei fondi (25.000 usd-circa 21.000 euro) necessari alla costruzione di un nuovo edificio nell’area del nostro Centro. Come anche indicato negli articoli qui sotto, si tratta di un edificio a 2 piani che ospiterebbe su ciascun piano un’aula d’insegnamento e due stanze destinate alle varie attività aggiuntive all’insegnamento che vengono svolte. / The most challenging project remains the one of our Centre in Domnak Chamboak. By now we have reached 200 children assisted by our staff. 25 children attending the Centre in the morning and more than 90 primary school children attending in the afternoon. The need to create new spaces is more and more urgent and so from the beginning of this year we launched the project “A brick for the children of Domnak Chamboak” aimed at raising funds (25,000 usd-about 21,000 euro) necessary for the construction of a new building in the area of our Centre. As also indicated in the articles below, it is a 2-storey building that would house on each floor a classroom and two rooms for the various activities that are carried out in addition to teaching .
Finora siamo riusciti a raccogliere circa 5.500 euro quindi la strada è ancora lunga per la nostra meta. / So far we have managed to raise about 5,500 euros so there is still a long way to go.

Prima missione in Cambogia del 2018 e la nostra Jane Hartley è già in pista. Trascorrerà, anzi sta già trascorrendo, un mese intero a Kep a insegnare Inglese ai bambini del nostro Centro Diurno. / First mission in Cambodia in 2018 and our Jane Hartley is already on the go. She will spend, actually she is already spending, a whole month in Kep teaching English to the children in our Day Center.
La missione è partita il 1 di Marzo e si concluderà con il rientro in Italia il 1 di Aprile. In mezzo a queste due date, tanto tanto lavoro da fare per i bambini, per lo staff e per il nostro Progetto Kep. / The mission started on 1 March and will continue up to 1 April, when Jane will head back home to Italy. Between these two dates a lot to do with the children, with the staff and for our Kep Project.
